I do psychotherapy with individuals, couples, groups, and families. I also teach workshops, mainly dealing with relationships and emotions. My focus is in helping people increase in balance through self-awareness. The paths to self-awareness are as diverse as people themselves. Almost any issue, concern, problem, relationship, or goal can become an amazing journey to increased connection with yourself and others.

I have experience with a wide variety of clients who have come to therapy with an equally wide variety of wants and needs. I have had the honor of working with people of many different races, genders, religious and spiritual beliefs, sexual orientations, nationalities, ethnicities, lifestyle choices, and ages.

I incorporate meditation and Buddhist wisdom in my practice as well as my personal life. I have additional training in areas such as couples counseling, the Enneagram, hypnotherapy, and group therapy.

I am an Oregon Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Since I now live and work in Portland, my California Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) license is inactive.**

I received my Master’s Degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco. CIIS was founded to combine the knowledge of Western psychology with the wisdom of Eastern spiritual and psychological traditions.

I worked with clients in San Francisco and the California North Coast in a private practice setting for about 10 years before moving to Portland. I have also worked as a school counselor at an alternative high school, a social worker, and a telephone counselor for a major mental health insurance company. Before going back to grad school to become a psychotherapist I was a computer technology professional for 16 years.

* In case you are wondering about how to pronounce my last name: it rhymes with “sliced”.
